US Pork Production Forecast – 03/13/2022

USDA has steadily lowered US  pork production estimates for 2022 since trend projections were published last spring. US pork production in 2022 is expected to fall short of year earlier level, but most of the decline occurred in the first quarter of the year with April December pork output about equal to a year ago. The March Hogs and Pigs survey, scheduled for release 3/30/2022, should find the market hog inventory very close to that of a year ago to support USDA’s  pork production forecast.
