US coarse grain sales Strong – 01/27/2022

US coarse grain sales in mid January totaled 52 million tonnes down from a year ago , but on the upper side of commitments at  the same time in most of the last 30 years. The quantity of corn available from the Southern Hemisphere is still in doubt but the current USDA forecasts for 2022 Brazilian and Argentine corn production likely represents  the upper range of possibilities. 

Ukraine is also a major corn exporter. The current old crop corn Ukraine supply data  is already well known but political problems with Russia could disrupt shipments or the planting of the 2022 Ukrainian corn crop
