Southern Hemisphere Soybean Crop

Weather in Argentina has generally favored the soybean crop this season (January in the Southern Hemisphere equates to July in the U.S.) USDA is likely to maintain the December forecast of 53 million tonnes included with the January World Supply and Usage report scheduled for January 10, 2020.

In Brazil concern is developing for crops in the southern portions of the Brazilian soybean belt due to drier than normal austral summer weather. USDA might adjust the current 123 million tonne soybean forecast on January 10 but could elect to maintain the December estimate until more is known about Brazilian soybean crop conditions.
