Mid June Corn Progress 06/16/20

Published by David Tedrow on

The  USDA rated 71% of the corn crop in good or excellent condition in Mid June which compares with 59% a year ago. We have seasonally adjusted the mid June rating to obtain a yield estimate. Our model projects a national corn yield of 179 bushels/acre which is close to USDA’s June projection. Of course the heart of the growing season is still ahead. Hot/dry weather during pollination would quickly change the yield outlook.
