March 2022 Hog Inventory – 03/01/2022

We calculate the March 1,2022  US hog inventory at 73.8 million head, down slightly from a year ago. Our balance table assumes that farmers followed through with the December/February farrowing intentions expressed in the December 2022 survey and that the number of pigs saved per litter will follow the long term trend.

The March Hogs and Pigs report is scheduled for release on 03/30/2022.
