USDA rated 64 % of the corn crop in good or excellent condition on June 27. 2021 compared to the preceding 30-year average of 65%. A late June model forecasts a national corn yield of 176 bushels per harvested acre compared to 172 bushels in 2020. The study has a R2 of 84% with a standard error of 10 bushels per acre.

Midest temperature is very critical over the next two weeks as the majority of the 2021 US corn crop will go through the silking stage during this period

Top soil moisture in the Corn Belt was 72% adequate or surplus in late June 2021.    The 2021 corn crop could carry through with current moisture and modestly below average precipitation but would still be badly hurt by very hot weather.
